Looking at laying artificial surface in back garden in new build. First need to excavate and remove the grass rubble rock and soil out the back. Ive no idea how to get a mini digger out the back and whether I'd be the best person to operate it, and then remove the soil. Havent asked around yet, so this is really coming at it with no clue but what would be cost effective, me doing the ground work renting the diggers, trucks to remove rubble. Or can that be cost effective to do by one specialist company. Back garden is standard size back. What are general costs? Under a grand for excavation and removal of soil, flattening of ground?

have you sorted the drainage problem, you may in fact need planning under the SUDs rules, not my area....

Are all the houses around it new as well, and are the garden walls solid, or are they wooden? If all are new, are there are still builders around, maybe ask them?

New but moved into. (6 months). We were last in.
Wooden walls and the builders are down the road in another development. Not had the greatest experience with the builders to be honest.

Can see the hire digger and rock breaker prices. But the soil removal itself or how far down I'd go is completely unknown.

Hey @taxuser1 , did you ever do this ? I am in the same position as you but unsure what to do . Non DIY installation is far too costly .
