    Hi,
I was single for a long time and now dating a very nice lady for 4 months. I am in my early 40’s and I am having performance issues in bed. Mainly not being able to stay hard when putting on a condom or during foreplay. I can get hard but not always hard enough for intercourse.
So I am going to see my GP and get advice on some medication like Viagra or Cialis.
Has anyone here done this and what was your experience?
I’m probably a bit worried what my partner will say when I tell her I’m taking meds.

i've taken both, and it works. just be careful not to become over reliant, cos that aint a good thing.
i had a nervous problem as well, so went to GP, got prescription and sorted problem short term but if there was ever an impromptu sexy time, and i wasn't armed with the tabs, that would have me anxious and the vicious circle that ensues.

    best of luck!!

From experience, I would not recommend this. For one thing, I find erections with assistance from the tablets tend to last an awful lot longer and may raise questions. I also found they needed a little figuring out in terms of when to take and getting used to the side effects. It was a weight off my mind to be able to chat openly about it with my partner rather than hide something. Assuming the issue behind the ED is a mental one, this is just another worry you don't need.

My partner had zero issues with my taking medication for it. She already knew well I was having issues (obviously), and appreciated that I needed help to get over it. It's a sadly common issue with men being afraid to confront their problems and take steps to cure them, it is absolutely nothing to be embarrassed about.

Probably best to go to the doctor to get a checkup but you can also get a prescription online from Lloyds online doctor if you feel comfortable enough with a quick questionnaire.

Generic Sildenafil costs about 8€ in the pharmacy for 4 - Viagra is a bit dearer.
Side effects are redness in the face and chest , sometimes a slight headache - upset stomach also - the 2 latter very rarely though - but once you take them regularly enough the side effects seem to fade.

You have to take them 40-60 minutes beforehand and will last 3-4 hours also sometimes it can oddly work for 2 to 3 days after where the slightest "touch" can set you off.

Viagra you can take 30 mins before you need them. (not on a full stomach)
    Cialis an hour before hand.
Viagra lasts a few hours. (although it can appear to "assist you" for up to 24 hours.
Cialis lasts 36 - 48 hours (its referred to as the weekend drug).

If you dont need them dont take them Its a subject that comes up (pardon the pun) fairly regularly with us mature blokes.

    The side effects of viagra
    1. Blue light head aches (Light seems like everything is under a florescent tube light) Similar to a migrane.

Side effects of both : 3 -4 days of heartburn, lower back pain, flushing of the face and ears.
The tablets open the blood vessels throughout the body. This is what causes the side effects.

Note they are for erectile disfunction, if your libido is low they wont work.

I'd suggest you get a blood test first from your GP.
