when trying to start my focus there is no clicking noise from the ignition, radio/lights/windscreen wipers wont come on, but i can here a high pitched whurring type noise from around the fuse board under the glove compartment.

Im guessing its a relay or some such? anyone any other ideas or suggestions?

Did you try jump leads onto the battery? Battery could be totally flat? Worth a try before delving deeper

Leave the car connected to the donor car for a longer period, even up to several minutes.
If the battery is fully flat it may need to charge a little while before you try to start it.

Strange if you’re not even getting any dash lights. Have a look under the bonnet and check for any loose / corroded earths. Particularly main earth off the battery. Possible cause.

Was totally dead again this morning. So got a new battery and it worked fine, apparently, the noise was possibly a relay not getting enough power. Thanks for the help guys
