I wouldn't be too put off by laptopsdirect. They are around a long time. That machine doesn't seem to be very good value, very poor processor.

Oh really? I have no clue what to be looking for! Thanks for the advice.

I'm only going to be using it for college work and the occasional Sims binge :o

I've been told to look for min 4GB RAM and 250GB Storage/Memory but other than this I really don't know what to look for.

I'm on a very tight budget of €350 max...I'll have another look, thanks

PS. What should I be looking for with regards to a 'good' processor??

This is a good choice for a low budget like yours:

    https://www.currys.ie/ieen/computing/laptops/laptops/lenovo-ideapad-320s-14ikb-14-intel-pentium-laptop-128-gb-ssd-white-10164449-pdt.html

The processor is decent, it is equivalent to an i3 from last year in almost every way. The RAM is about the minimum you would want, but should work. And as for storage, it is a bit small at 128GB, but this is an SSD which will make the computer much faster than any of the 1TB HDD systems in this price range. The amount of storage you need is entirely dependant on your use. If you use spotify and netflix then it is likely you won't need a huge amount of storage.

Thank you very much. I might be able to stretch to €400 if it's absolutely worth it so may have a look on there and see if I can get something with more storage if you think it would be worth the money

In that case this might be worth a look:

    https://www.currys.ie/ieen/computing/laptops/laptops/asus-vivobook-f407ma-14-intel-pentium-laptop-256-gb-ssd-grey-10181701-pdt.html

This has a marginally better processor (quad core instead of dual core). And it has double the storage which is pretty good at this price point. I certainly haven't seen any 256GB SSD systems under 400 before. But it does still only have 4GB of RAM.

Personally I would say this is probably worth the extra cash, just for the extra storage space. All the other spec won't make much difference in terms of speed/performance imo, so if cash is tight then go with the cheaper option.

Thank you very much. I was actually going to go with the other one but when I tried to order it last night it was out of stock!
This one however is in stock so I'll pop in tonight and have a look at it.

Thanks a mill; this was hugely stressing me out so I really appreciate you taking your time to help me.
