    Hi as the title says I'm looking at buying this model is there anything to look out for specifically

    Gearbox bearings failing although at this stage I'd imagine they would have failed and been replaced.

    Perfect thanks the seller has said it has been reconditioned how do you tell if they are going a whining noise I assume

    Pretty much. You should be able to hear it. Radio off and listen. Accelerate gently and lift off and let it slow down a bit. You should hear a grinding/whirring noise if it's on the way out.

    Ask to see the receipt for the work also. They should be able to provide it.

    While I'd very much like to see it and would ask failure to produce a receipt wouldn't make me walk away. It's almost a 14 year old car. If it looks good, drives well, is in good condition and free of any obvious issues I'd certain still be interested. Use it as a bargaining chip however. I previously drove down the price of a Corolla VVTI when buying as the seller insisted they had just done the timing belt. They changed their tune when I told them it didn't have one......
