getting attic converted: what insulation should I be looking for?

I have a 1960's 3 bed semi and want to get the attic converted to a bedroom.
I need a steer on what insulation I should be getting in order to keep more heat in the room/house but also keep the room cool in the summer if possible?
also is it a good idea to insulate the eaves storage area so that multiple access hatches can be added without causing heat loss? thanks

Id be looking at the ISOVER and Vario system.
Bear in mind you have serious structural works and fire safety works also.
