    1. I noticed someone using a hose during the conservation notice. What do I do?

    If you would like to PM address details, we can certainly look into this.

    2. Can you accept addresses for reports of Hosepipe ban breaches under data protection laws?

    Irish Water has authorised personnel on the ground, calling to the homes where we have received reports. We have been focused on reminding these customers that the Water Conservation Order is in place, the impact of the drought and the need to conserve water. As yet no fines have been levied but this remains an option open to Irish Water (through An Garda Siochana) as provided for by the Water Services Act 2007.
    The processing of personal data collected during the course of the hose-pipe ban for the purpose of enforcing the Water Conservation Order is (i) necessary in order for Irish Water to carry its statutory functions which are in the public interest (conserving water); and (ii) carried out by Irish Water in the exercise of its official authority; and accordingly permitted by Data Protection Legislation.

    3. I want to get a new connection to the water mains, but I’m not sure if I can. What do I do?

    If you are thinking of getting a new connection to your property and want to check if this is feasible, we recommend you fill out our Pre-Connection Enquiry form.

    You can find more information on our Pre-Enquiry Forms and Connections here.

    4. I have a shared/combined sewer and want to have my own connection to the wastewater mains. What do I do?

    As Irish Water are only responsible for the mains sewers on the public road, you will need to apply for planning permission to carry out works on the private sewer pipes in your garden. Further information on pipe responsibility can be found here.

    5. I am looking for the WPRN of my property. What should I do?

    If you are looking for the WPRN of your property, please PM the following and we can look into this further:
    - Name;
    - Address; and
    - Contact number.
