I've the opportunity to fly dublin to buenos aires in business class (first time). There are many options it seems. Bristish airways, air France, iberia, KLM and lufthansa.

Anyone have any recommendations about which one to choose?

Put the flight codes into seatguru.com and check out the configuration. Some airlines have different layouts in different planes.

Also check out who has a lounge in the airports or if they share.

I prefer business class seats where you are in your own. Aer Lingus have a good layout where as some have two beside each other so prole going to the toilet disturb each other as do the staff serving

If you're flying alone you want a 1-2-1 layout on the longhaul sector as ted1 said. No other factor will impact you as much as this.

Just to add if you are getting a connecting flight make it a short one. As you’ll only be in regular class for that part and you want to maximise the business class element.

looks like iberia are the only ones doing a lay out like that.

KLM give you a nice little Dutch house in Business. :)

If you make sure you're not on an Aer Lingus codeshare KLM and BA have business class on the short sectors. I'm pretty sure Air France do too but haven't flown with them for a long time. Don't know about Iberia but Seatguru will tell you.

    Filled with gin!

and if you go on enough trips with them you can start to build a nice little village with all the different houses you get

A friend of mine has a huge collection. Apparently some of the rare ones are very sought after.

depending on the route and timing, I'd choose Lufthansa.

Short haul business isn’t great. It’s just regular seats with the middle seat blanked out.
They’ll give you a sausage and a beer.

It's still better than economy with Aer Lingus.

Air France 777 is by far the best seat (1-2-1 layout), a massive improvement on their old 2-3-2 layout.
Lufthansa gives you the novelty of a 747 with the chance to get a seat upstairs. But it's a 2-2-2 layout (or 2-2 upstairs), so window seat person needs to step over the aisle person, and a longer overall journey.
KLM is also 2-2-2. Amsterdam is nice to connect in, but there's a risk your bag won't make it if the connection is under 90 minutes.
Iberia seats are squeezed in pretty tight. Avoid if you are broad-shouldered, tall or have big feet!
Only go with BA if you want the chance to experience the novelty of flying backwards.
    Enjoy the trip!
