    Can someone leave school after they have completed the junior cert they will be 15 ?

    No they can't leave school at 15.

    It used to be 15, but was raised to 16.
    I know many people who don't like school want to leave after the Junior, but it would be a very foolish move, unless there was for example a family trade that they KNEW they would get an apprenticeship in (and even then, after just JC, they may struggle with the academic side of the training).

    If you or someone you know is finding that school does not suit them, or they don't suit school, they might find a well-run Leaving Cert. Applied course might suit them. I stress well run as there are many badly run LCAs out there. It is much more like college in the way it is structured and you chip away at your LC over the two years by doing assignments and tasks, so that when you come to the final exam, they only count for a small percentage of yur final grade and there is not so much pressure.
