Advice for buying a Laptop

I need to buy a laptop for the first time in years and I’m not sure what to get. I was hoping someone could give me some pointers on what to look for or even links to laptops they recommend.
I have a budget of around €400 and it’ll be used for college work, watching videos on YouTube and Netflix and some light gaming (Sims, Age of Empires, two point hospital etc). Would 4gb of Ram be enough for this or would 8gb be needed? Also is a Solid state drive important?

I think you'll struggle to find a laptop with 8GB of ram and a SSD for 400 unless you go second hand.

The processor seems comparable to an i3, it's quad core and has a decent boost clock. The 256GB SSD is a big plus. All in all a very good deal for the money I'd say, and it should handle old games fine. Lack of RAM is the main point here, but you could upgrade yourself later. I think this is a good proposition.

yes will handle basic stuff and older basic games like the ones you mentionned fine. will not run anything really graphically intensive tho.

the ram is up-gradable in the future as it's not a soldered in slot.

nice light machine also.

not quite current i3 performance but can run solidly at a decent speed (comparable to i3 a couple of gens back).
