Dock leaves during Ophelia.

    I don't know if ye all remember but pictures surfaced of dock leaves turning black after Ophelia blew in sea spray, miles in from the coast.

    Just wondering did the docks die outright after?

    It'd be a handy natural solution for spot spraying if it did.

    I’d imagine it’s like lots of tue organic mixes you see touted about salt or vinegar in hot water, kills the top growth but the plant grows right back.

    Docks have a serious tap root and it helps them survive most conditions.

    I just read on another farming forum about someone spraying salt water killing gorse bushes under fence lines and remembered the pictures of the docks after Ophelia.
    Be a nice free spray if it did.

    If it worked I'd be sorted after tonight. Regularly find a coating of salt on the cars after a night like tonight. Never takes a shske out of the docks.

    The bad news is no they didn't die off..
    The curly leaved dock has thrived in silage ground here post drought .
