Personal risk of driving an exotic car

Looking at that Ford GT thread, makes you wonder what some people do for a living buying something like that. Such exotics like Ferrari or Lambo, do you think potentially being a target would make you reconsider such a car? If I could afford one and drove around Dublin in one, I would evaluate the personal risk to me before buying one. I'd love one and would have to get use to all the attention. Cars like these would surely ring in unwanted attention. Who knows who will be tailing you around the place for good or bad reasons. It is what it is when you own something rare.

The above is negative I know, but I want to know what peoples views are on this?

Id be more worried about parking it anywhere near the knuckle draggers that do be about.

I have one friend in the UK, (fairly well to do). Drives a top of range high power \ spec Grand Cherokee for exactly that reason. Flat colour but with every extra.

Figures they are rare enough for obvious reasons (bad value) so nobody either knows how much they cost, how fast they go etc. and makes him blend in far less than a top spec Merc or Porsche which cries out 'I'm rich'. Changes it every two years, cost not the issue.
