Advice please- 10k budget- what to buy

First time poster. I need to buy a new car with 10k budget. Need a quick buy due to car being written off in accident. Already have a spacious family car used to ferry kids and for main journeys. Need a second car for commute etc. would like reasonable sized boot and reliable car. What would you look at in this budget range (make and model and year)? Is it worth looking to import from Uk with this budget? Thanks for the help

I'd look at the Ford Mondeo too, they are an excellent family car with plenty of legroom, comfort and a big boot:

10k would most likely get you a 2012 facelift 2.0d4d Avensis from the uk.

Good reliable cars with less common modern diesel issues.

Egr valves dmf's and dpf's tend to last very well in them.

Electric handbrake problems are more of an issue in the prefacelift models.

They're a comfy spacious reliable no nosense car and if gotten in a decent they're a nice place to be.

Pre 08 bmw 5 series or Merc e class petrol. 06 or 07.
Cost about 2 grand. High running costs but plenty of running for the rest of your budget. I swear by it. Always have.

I had the same budget as you at the start of the year but I drive 30k miles a year. I bought a Passat CC with a decent spec and an very happy with it 20k miles later.
