    Hi,

looking for some advice please... I've an interview next week for a Finance Administrator in an ETB, it seems to be a Competency Based interview but that wasn't overly stated. I'm just wondering has anyone done an interview like this? Any Advice?

    Thanks in Advance:)

They've probably set out the competency in the job description... usually team work, delivery of results etc - think about how your previous experience relates to this because this is how they want you to answer it.

I currently work in an ETB centre. I didn't find the interview particularly daunting. The usual stuff...

    Thanks Love2love
Yes the competencies are in the application form so I'm working on them as the moment. Just wondering what detail I would need to know about the ETB, I was looking on their website and was thinking I'd just need to know the different areas they deal with?
Do you like working for ETB? Are there many career opportunities there?
Thanks for taking the time to reply :)

I work in a Community Training Centre but we are funded through CDETB. From a finance point of view - they are extremely conscientious and transparent. I really like that about them. I am responsible for preparing our monthly claim and bank reconciliations for our centre so would deal with the finance department in one particular dublin centr e a lot.
One thing that strikes me about the ETB is that the staff (not all - girls in the finance department excluded here!) seem to be miserable and bicker constantly between themselves - so much so that we've had to change procedures because Mary and Jane refuse to talk to one another. I wonder why they don't just move on.

    Thanks for your reply Love2love.
I'm not sure how big the department is but it's finance that I'm interviewing for too. it says in the application there is a management aspect to the job which I'm a bit nervous of as I've never managed a team before! I feel I'd be able for it but was shocked when I got the interview call. I just want to be prepared as much as I can! I'm used to working in places with Mary & Jane problems..lol it's cat like you said it's crazy hanging around they should move on!!
Fingers cross I do a good interview , thanks again for your help :)
