On the 1st i was out all day over permissions looking for a fallow(didnt get one), got to chat to a few of the landowners through the day and a common theme occurred in conversations they've all had problems with people out walking through(trespassing) their land even with dogs. One lad is in the process of building a house and people were even walking through the shell of it before the windows and doors were put in:eek: muddy foot and paw prints through it
This isnt a problem ive come across in previous years whats going on with people thinking they can trespass through private property? it seems like a trend at the moment to go walking through mountains fields etc..
Im sure some of you have come across this problem before whats the best thing to do if i come across these people out trespassing on permissions?

Its a complicated area cos there are rights of way that go back centuries on large areas of land in this country, especially commonage, forestry, riparian, and upland areas. I have a right of way running along my own place in North Mayo that runs down to the shore. Unfortunately this can mean "undesirables" thinking they can wander where they want:(

Yes people do think they can walk where they choose. Regular occurrence with us but they only ever do it once cause we send them out the gate furthest from where they want to go.

have a read of the 'Crossing Fields' thread in the farming forum

Plus the "Right to Roam" brigade seem to think they can go wherever they want to.
