Just found out that we did not have a dedicated LA Rams thread for season 2018, so I kicked it off by including a quote from our 1st game thread. Methinks it's important to note that McVay is an experimenter, and had he been a scientist rather than an athlete and Rams head coach, methinks he would have done quite well. He did rather well for his first 2017 season, taking a team from the bottom 2016 to almost the top in one year. Is he the youngest head coach in modern NFL history? Was McVay named Coach of the Year by the Pro Football Writers of America for 2017?

He has a powerhouse of offensive and defensive players, so I'll leave that discussion for now to anyone else interested in launching this thread.

Also "Rams tour new stadium construction site in Inglewood."

Rams were rusty first half with several first string not having played preseason 4 games, behind Raiders 10-13. McVay's experiment. Both offense and defense Rams found their rhythm 2nd half, dominating Raiders scoreless, and adding 23 to final score (33 to 13). Will that rhythm persist into beginning game 2? Will Ram defense exhibit greater penetration without too many penalties? Will Goff better connect with his receivers without overthrowing them?

    Didn't you support the Seahawks?

I know they joke about Seahawks fans being bandwagon jumpers, but changing to a division rival...!?

    Arizona Cardinals vs LA Rams
    Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum
Week 2, Sunday, 16 September 2018 at 1:05 PM PDT
    Telecast on Fox

Did Rams shutout Cardinals 33-0 during regular season 22 October 2017? It's only 4:20 Pacific after an all-nighter working on a project, and I'm too sleepy to be sure.

Yes, they did. I was raging I didn't get over to London for the game. And then I wasn't when I saw the result. :D It'll be a later kick-off the weekend. Most likely 9.05 or 9.25. You'll slaughter the Cardinals.

We will see if Sean McVay's 2018 preseason plan worked, along with a few other factors.

Love watching the Rams and love how much composure McVay speaks with in press conferences and interviews.

Really like this clip of a day in mini-camp during his first preseason

Rams would be my pick for the SB - Phillips has got a really good D to work with and that will more than complement the offence.

2018 LA Rams Week 2 injury report only has 3 players listed, and RB Todd Gurley shows "Not Injury Related."

In comparison, 2018 Arizona Cardinals Week 2 injury report has 11 players listed, including 2 with that mysterious "Not Injury Related" for QB Sam Bradford and WR Larry Fitzgerald.

I'm uncertain what "Not Injury Related" means for the 3 players listed above. Any ideas?

In any case, it appears that the greater number of Cardinals injuries may factor into their team's performance Sunday. Who knows?

The majority of the time it's just giving players rest days.

The Rams didn't have any practice yesterday - only a walk-thru - so Gurley's "DNP" is fairly irrelevant.

Rest day(s) from training and practice. Makes sense.

    Regular season mini-highlights...
    • Week 1 Rams v Raiders: 33 to 13. Rams offense sluggish 1st half. Active 2nd. Grand defense.
    • Week 2 Cardinals v Rams: 0 to 34. Rams offense sluggish 1st quarter. Active last 3. Surprisingly did 3 two-point conversions successfully. Grand defense.
    • Week 3 Chargers v Rams: Play 1:05 PM Pacific on CBS. Will Rams offense be active all 4 quarters? Sean McVay calls the offensive plays and thinks so per his interview on CBS Saturday.
Week 3 Injury Report: Chargers with 6 and Rams with 4 and 1-non injury related.

Rams beat Chargers 35-23. Rams now 3-0. Rams offense and defense looked tired during 4th quarter. 26C at 50% humidity in Los Angeles, perhaps hotter in LA Memorial Coliseum.

Week 4: Vikings v Rams at 5PM Pacific Thursday on Fox telly.

Rams beat Vikings 38-31. Impressive offensive teams playoff, not so defenses. QB Jared Goff finished the evening 26 of 33 for 465 yards and 5 touchdowns. Rams now 4-0.

Week 5: Rams v Seahawks, Sunday, 7 October 2018 at 1:25 Pacific, in Seattle and Fox telly. CenturyLink Field noise may be a factor favouring Seahawks.

Almost Rams v Seahawks game time in about 20 minutes Pacific. Swannie holds breath. Methinks it will be a real gridiron battle between the youngest NFL head coach and one of the best former NCAA and now Seattle head couch. Shutting down everything for the game now.

Half time with Rams v Seahawks tied at 17. Wow, what a grand game to watch. Anyone can win this one at this point.

LA Rams only undefeated NFL team at 6-0 one day before game at SF 49's. Last 3 games were close, so a 7-0 outcome for week 7 may be problematic. The Ram's kicking department has been troublesome.

What do you think Swannie? A Ram's win, but a nail biter in the final seconds like the last 3 games.
