    Hi,

Going to Italy for two weeks approx.
Will need internet connection for various things,
but if free internet is not available, and I use my own GB's,
How much do you use a day?

I know it's not a fixed amount, etc, but for looking up Places of interest, restaurants, etc, what would you expect?

    Thanks

    Jay

Which network are you with ? What is your allowance for roaming?

One thing you could do is use the Google Trips app https://get.google.com/trips/ and download the relevant info before you go so you can view it offline. Also download the maps of the area your going to before hand.

1-2Gb probably. What network are you on?
Roaming in the eu is free on the most part these days.

    Hi,

    On Vodafone. PAYG
No Contract.... The € 20.00 per month one.
Not worried about phone calls etc.. more like
looking up Places to go / Things to see / Restaurants...
    that sort of thing.
When I cannot get free internet and will be using my own.

    Thanks

    Jay

I'm on the Vodafone Student X 20 a month deal. Have been to a couple of countries this year and it just uses your normal usage. I've kept 4G/data roaming on the whole time with no problems.

Go here and pick Italy from the list:

    http://www.vodafone.ie/roaming/rates-by-country/pay-as-you-go/

    Internet section says:

Internet on your phone - No extra cost*

    * In Europe, Vodafone customers can use their full allowance of calls, texts and data exactly like they would at home. For more information click here.

if you set a mobile data counter between your roaming allowance and wifi you should be ok

Roaming charges abolished thanks to the EU. The Brits will be in for a shock next summer :)
