cannot loosen letterbox plate for letter cage

My mother had a uPVC put in a few years ago and has always been annoyed she never gout the lads to fit a letter cage. They are easy to get but she doesn't want anyone making holes in the door.

Yesterday I found a cage online that doesn't require screws. You loosen the letterbox plate, slide in the cage and tighten the screws.

Of course, it wouldn't be that simple. The plate on the door has no screws. I'm guessing it would have to be pulled of and I can't see anyway to do that without scratching (or worse) the plate and the door.

Anyone have any ideas other than calling in the guys who installed the door?

EDIT: I've tried adding a photo of the letterbox but I can't upload any pictures.

I would say the rear section is held in place by screws through the front section

I'll be going over there today.

I did not consider that the front might be how to to remove it because I thought they were separate pieces.

    Sounds right.

Open the letterbox and you will see a couple of screws, from one letterbox face through to the other.

Usually the screws would be on the inside?
