Ioniq/dashcam incident

    Has anybody installed a dashcam into the Ioniq? If so was it hard to fit? what type did you get?Had a incident yesterday where somebody jumped out in front of me on purpose looking to get hit as i was going through dublin in the liffey valley area.

    I took the dash cam from my previous car and stuck it in the ioniq. Nothing fancy, plugged into centre console, running under paneer mat and mostly behind door, side panel... I'll take a couple of photos if you like... It does the job...
    There is a you tube video somewhere of hardwired front and back camera install

    I especially liked the bit where the second guy put his hood up after she pointed out the dashcam... he had already looked directly into the camera at that stage... clearly not very clever guys!

    Dashcam's provide some entertaining footage. There was a guy in the UK who sent his 24kWh Leaf for a service to a main Nissan dealer and the guy who was tasked with washing it took a p*ss in his wash bucket and then proceeded to wash the car! All on dashcam!

    The owner got a new 30kWh Leaf from Nissan free of charge as a result, on the agreement he take down the video!

    Close, without the impact and the scooter though !! - two guys on the side of the road leading up to the liffey valley shopping center, one of them jumped straight out in front of the car face on, apparently looking to be hit while the other stayed on the side of the road & he had a mobile phone in his hand (presumably ready to take some pics or something). slowed down well in time and had the car just barely rolling, he moved slightly to the right and i accelerated which i think caught him off guard as the car is electric and has a virtually silent but rapid takeoff,(there was no way i was stopping as i had my wife and two young kids in the car)he seemed to reach towards the driver door handle as i went by as well.....

    Why would he do damage to the car and the bike to make a video with almost no potential for profit?

    Crap moped and crap car.


    I cant believe people are falling for this nonsense. You can actually get paid real money for these videos going viral. Far more than the price of 10 cars and 10 mopeds.

    Its blatantly fake.

    There are loads of similar videos on YouTube, lots caught on dash cam or CCTV and seemingly rampant in Asia.
