Setting up an AM transmitter

I’m based on the border of Limerick and Clare. I’m considering setting up a radio station. I’m going to start out with 1 Watt. I studied Electrical Engineering back in the day but we didn’t cover anything about antenna theory. I’d be looking at transmitting at the top of the band, in or around 200 meters.

Is there any particular type of aerial I should be looking at? Any design principles that I should follow?

    Hi ,
It's all down to space and height. Also are you sure only 1 Watt ? I couldn't see that getting to the antenna . The most efficient antenna home made is a T style.
Best of luck with your project .
