    Hi lads and ladies ..
We finally took the plunge and purchased a 4wd Massey Ferguson 4355 with front loader .. just wondering if some of the more experienced people on here would give me some advice as to weight or design I would need for weight block for back of tractor .

I've seen a few online and was leaning towards one I thought was simple in construction ... it used the smaller type blue round barrel and put t frame in and filled with concrete .

Anther one which was more work in making but seemed quicker for taking on off was one that when lifted swung in against arms to stop swinging back and over .. but used it's own weight to stay on bar for lifting .

All pictures welcome and suggestion of what weight I should be using .
    Thanks in advance
    R&S

Don't know much about farming tbh, but weights as used in weight lifting? Maybe get in contact with a more Professional Gym and tell them what you intend to use them for.

One here is an old galvanise attic water tank with an old plough headstock put into it, then filled the tank with concrete.

I have one here that I made about 20 years ago. Still going strong. It's a barrell filled with concrete. It has a frame on the front that a 'nine hole bar' fits in under. The lower part has a plate that swings in against the tractor hitch. You can drop it and pick it up without getting off the tractor.
I'll take a few picks, if you like,

Had thought of that but it's too bulky when swinging around in tight yards and sheds

Here ya go. Concrete weight. Basically you reverse back with the 9 hole bar and lift in under the top part. The weight then swings in against the drawbar of the tractor. It never came off when using it. Only time I knocked it over was when I didnt get under it square on. The ring at the top, a gate hanging iron, can be used to lift it.
The frame goes well into the concrete and I have some rebar through it too. Made it late '80s or early '90s. If I was loading stuff, I could drop and pick it up 30 times a day.

Counter weight off a scraped forklift.
