PHEV to replace diesel

Looking for some input on the wisdom of replacing a 132 1.6 D Golf with a phev.

Bought a 24kwh Leaf 6 months ago to replace petrol runabout and absolutely love it. Covers 90% of our trips as both the wife and I have separate 22 km round trip commutes. Now looking at changing the golf to do that commute on electric phev range and cover the 15-20 longer trips a year.

Won't be buying a car less than 2-3 years old as not willing to live with the depreciation. So i3 rex (22kwh), outlander, and potentially 330e are in the mix. Anything else I should be looking at?

Thoughts on this swap from TCO perspective? Mileage will be 8-10k km max so fuel savings will be minimal. I'm expecting to have to add <10k to a private sale on the golf but expect the phev to hold its value better. Maybe naive of me?
