Working overtime - can I get time in lieu?

Hi. My employer has scheduled me to work over my contracted hours in my working week. Can I ask the overtime back in lieu (take time back another day) or do I have to get paid for it? Thanks.

What does your contract say about overtime?

Depends on the nature of the business. My employer is ok to allow either time in lieu or paid ot. Usually it's 4 hours ot blocks so that translates to double time or 8 hours off. Ask your employer.
