New timetable - Dublin Suburban questions

Just spotted what I thought was something positive in the new timetable - the potential use of the passing loop in Clongriffin at peak time, which after years of lying mainly idle is a good thing.
Someone might confirm, but from timetable:
16.34 Greystones to Malahide DART leaves Connolly at 17.34, arriving Malahide 18.03
16.50 Bray to Drogheda DMU directly behind that leaves Connolly at 17.39, yet arrives into Malahide 17.58.
I get this suburban train a lot, and it had one of the slowest journey times on the line, and even worse was always subject to delays especially outside Malahide. It also led to delays inbound to Enterprise, DARTS and Drogheda to Pearse suburban trains.
So am I correct that IE are using Clongriffin to allow the Drogheda DMU pass the DART? That DART has 3 minutes added to it's normal journey time from Howth Junction to Malahide. Thanks

Also seems to happen once more in the evening peak. If they could get this loop working well, and more widespread, it has the potential to bring us back to the better journey times we had prior to the extension of the DART to Malahide, after which Northern suburban line trains started spending lots of time waiting on the Malahide viaduct and south of Malahide.
Unfortunately these 2 trains are the only improvement I can see in the full timetable for suburban customers.
