So getting out on the road, but can't handle the clutch and stress of gears.

So looking for an automatic, budget is around 2,500. But I was at 7 dealers/garages this morning in Limerick with no joy.

So can anyone recommend a dealer/garage in Limerick worth looking at. I tried enterprise on dock road but they were closed today.

There aren’t really any garages in limerick I’d go to for a €2500 car, you’re as well off buying privately anyway as your recourse in the event of a problem will be minimal.

How big a car do you need?
Have you a max engine size you’re looking at?

1.2-1.4 engine size. It's literally just to learn on and go to the shops once a week for the time being.

OP, do you realise that if you do your test in automatic that you will only get a license to drive automatic cars? You will never be able to legally drive a manual car unless you resit the test again in a manual car.

Yes i do understand that. If i'm going to be doing any amount of driving in my life, i'll look at a hybrid. But for now i just want to get out on the road and get my full licence

Your biggest problems will be finding a suitable car locally.
I’m guessing this is first time insurance, so many companies will either penalize or refuse those with older cars.

There’s a Hyundai Accent 2008 for sale in Cork on donedeal that might be of interest.
