Would not ordinarily fancy a horse like Gustav Klimt in the big sprint race today, but the changes in the going and weather forecast changes everything.

Tellwright said on Saturday: "It has started raining and I expect it to keep raining throughout the day. I think it's inevitable that we'll get heavy ground at some stage in the day."

With Gustav stepping back in trip, I think the heavy going will give it a real chance here at a very big price of 22/1.

I was slightly amazed to see him lining up for this.

He lacks early pace and has been closing at the end of mile races. His full brother Mars stayed the Derby Trip at Epsom with a staying on 3 3/4L 6th there.

No 3yo or older Galileo horse has ever won a 6f Gp1 Sprint ( Clemmie won a 6f Gp1 as a 2yo ) or maybe? even placed in any kind of group sprint for older horse.

Despite this O'Brien has been pushing the notion that he needs stepping back in trip and he ran as if 6f would be better for him than 7f in his last run. He has an awful lot to overcome but with the heavy going being predicted and O'Brien's team in red hot form he's a nice outsider to have a nibble on at those prices on the off chance that he'll improve vastly ( oops ) :pac:

Haydock 4.15 sprint.Watching the weather for the last few days the horse for small money at 40/1 is Donjuan Triumphant.Only 18/1 this morning looks outclassed but he will want it deep where other fancied horses won't like it at all.He loves Haydock and has decent form all on heavy remember it poured Thursday night, yesterday and last night so he has his conditions big time.Sands Of Mali 22/1 is very interesting if handling the ground as he seems a flat track specialist.2.5.11 all ways trio.

If a horse is taken out at the start for being unruly in the stalls does he go down as a non runner for place terms? Gossiping taken out of the 3.15 at the start today for acting the bollox leaving 15 runners.. Missed out on a nice bit of place money on lawmaking because of it. Sickened.

The tin man's a good horse who relished the heavy going, nothing to do with the jockey

The trainer, who’s a little closer to the action than you or I, thinks otherwise.

Confidence does wonders for a jockey, and a horse too when the he’s got someone on his back who’s giving great vibes
