Samsung side by side, cold water dispenser suddenly stopped dispensing. Ice working fine, so water getting in ok. Took off front panel and checked micro-switch, that's fine. Even reduced freezer temp. a few degrees in case of cross-freezing. Still nothing. Any ideas before I take out a second mortgage and call the Samsung repair guy?

Perhaps try a full 24 hour defrost to be absolutely sure the pipe isn't frozen.

Thanks, I'll try that. Although I'm puzzled that it would suddenly freeeze up after eight years of trouble-free use? Could that happen?

That's interesting, plus it can do no harm to give a full defrost, even if that isn't the answer.
Thanks both for taking the trouble to reply btw.
    Much appreciated.

Well, I thought I'd go with the 24-hour de-frost suggestion....nothing to lose, even though the cold-water dispenser had never frozen in nearly ten years.
Switched back on this evening, pushed the lever just to prove that it wasn't the answer.
Maybe I should have tested it with an empty glass. Then I wouldn't have had to spend time mopping up the water that poured out!
Thanks guys, for the tip that I would never have thought of....it was an iced-up pipe after all.
