Has anyone reading this ever worked or know anyone who ever worked for aldi or lidl??

What are they like to work for? whats the pay like compared to other retail stores? the conditions? the hours? ...what is the ethos of these companies do they work you hard?

    Thanks in advance

    Their ethos is efficiency.

I haven't worked for them directly but I know some people who have and have experience working in "low cost" high efficiency businesses. They pay above average. I believe around 12 an hour starting pay but they expect you to work for it. While it's still an excellent starting point I think there used to be a more significant difference between them and their competitors.

They don't give specific job descriptions because they expect you to fulfill multiple roles depending on how busy the store is. They employ very few people in comparison to Tesco etc.

They instill a work ethic in you that is very beneficial if you are just starting out.

A friend works there as a manager.

They work you hard and pay you very well.

He loves it, but says you need a good level of fitness and a clear head.

You tend to see the same staff there on a long term basis and that has to be good.

Yes have family that works in one of them. Very happy with the co and the team in the shop. Its part time while in college and almost full time and more in the summer.
They pay, the living wage as min. Good training days done. No problems at all.

I'd search their respective websites for those sort of details.

Aldi - none of the above. I don't know about Lidl.
