Doesn't look to bad in fairness.
I have a medion tablet, that's still going strong 4 years down the line, but can't comment on their TV quality! :)

Can heartily recommend Hisense, you can get a Hisense H43N5500UK 43inch from amazon warehouse in very good condition for £240 so not far off your price. Full warranty.
    Much better than Medion.

I wouldn't have thought this is a bargain, just checking PC World's site and there are plenty of 32" TVs for a similar price, including bigger brands like Samsung..

Strange on the in-store catalog it lists the tv has a DVD player built in as well. No mention on the website though

That's 720P, the Aldi one is 1080. Though, as someone already pointed out, it seems just an average price compared to other options available in Currys, Argos, etc.

The side view is also blank, where you would expect to see the dvd tray and buttons, so I think the one online definitely doesn't have dvd player in it!

Price would want to be nearer 200 for a value 32" tv

    Maybe,
But argos one has sat tuner.

And at 32" you'd want to be sitting very close to notice the difference.

I can't find one on PC World with 1080 hd and a smart tv combined for a price better than the Aldi one.
Very tempted to go with it.

I looked at the Curry's website and the first thing I saw was a FHD 39" JVC for 270 with smart function.

If you're not bothered about FHD, they've a HD Ready 32" JVC for 199 with smart function.

They even have a JVC 32" FHD Smart with built in DVD player for the same price as the Aldi TV.

Brand wise, the Aldi one probably comes from the same factories as the like of JVC, Walker, Bush, etc.

It's just not really a bargain, unless there's an Aldi nearby and it makes it a hassle free, decent value purchase in that context.

Any idea which one would be better with refresh rates for watching sport and playing video games on? It's going into a toy room for my kids but i'll probably use it for the odd match. Some of those ones are 50hz, which i think isn't the fastest.

Refresh rate of 50hz to be expected at this price range, some will have marketing spiel like 200hz motion processing or whatever, but they'll all really be much the same.

If it's for video games, that does raise an important question - input lag. That you would have to google individual models and find out peoples experiences. High input lag will give a pretty bad console experience.

Does the Aldi tv have a sat tuner as it states in their website that it has a dual tuner?

It's cable and terrestrial unfortunately, not satellite and terrestrial :)
