Hi. In a agricultural land sale who would be responsible for calculating the capital gains tax?am i right in thinking a accountant would compile the relevant figures first and then submits this to revenue for them to complete final figure?

Technically it should be you, as the tax system is a self assessment basis.

If the accountant prepared a computation, then it is on your behalf, and they verify this with you that you agree with the computation.

As you do not know the tax system, you engage the accountant, who will submit the computation on your behalf to revenue.
