Fixing door after break in.

Some little **** bent back the door frame on a car of mine last night, also smashed the little window at the pillar.. Just wondering how feasible it is to bend it back into shape, and how best to go about it?

I had a go this morning with attempting to reshape it, with poor results. I had a Phone book in the jamb while i pushed on the top of the frame. The Frame still sits 2 to 3 inches off the jamb at the top. The window will not go down.

I'm thinking the Door seal will never be the same anyway. Am I looking at a new door?

The Car is old (05 Jazz/Fit) and out of Tax, I'm half thinking of scrapping it now.

What colour is it? I would be thinking a new door is the easiest solution, if you can find one in the right colour that is.

Open door fully, put your knee on bottom half of door and bend back the top half until happy.

Might be worth checking scrappies for one tbh, might get lucky.

open the door fully, put the window all the way down. And bend it back with your arms. If you cant get enough leverage on it. then grab a 4x2 piece of timber and use that inside the open window to lever the frame back to position. do it in small movements not one large lever action until it gets to where you want it.

Spot on lads, foot on the door and pull. Now have the door back in position with what looks like a good seal (still to test that) Still need the little window at the A pillar fixed (sealed up with Duct tape at present). But overall I'm happy as I can be in this situation.

No the prick wasn't caught that I know of, but I've heard subsequently 2 cars were burnt out in neighbouring estates last night, so maybe I got lucky disturbing him when I did.

There was nothing in the car bar an Aldi Radio, which is now removed, and visably so (wires out on display).

Try not leave the duct tape on too long. Ruins the paint that stuff
