    Hi all

I currently work and live in Dubai, working on the deployment of an Enterprise Big Data platform for the local public transportation authority. We are developing a Big Data platform including data lake, active archive, use cases/reports with MicroStrategy as the front-end GUI, sentiment analysis, video analytics etc. Standard Big Data technology is being used such as Hadoop, Hive, Spark, Informatica etc.

Just wondering what sort of projects of a similar nature are ongoing in Ireland or if any of you guys have experience of similar, particularity within the public/transport sector?

I'm working for a large American multinational, that had a big merger in the last 2 years. We're currently in process of merging our legacy data lake / data warehouse environments. We're building a new data lake with relational and Cloudera Hadoop data stores. Using StreamSets, Kafka, Informatica, Greenplum, Cloudera, MemSQL, Hive, Spark etc. We're in tech sector.
