Financial stability of private primary school

i have two sons in a private primary school.
This year numbers are down and the entire school only has approximately 50 pupils (junior infants up to 6th class) so i am worried about the viability of the school.
I have asked for a meeting with the management to discuss but before i go in I would like to know a little more about how this private schools operate financially.

Fees are approx €4500 per pupil so total from fees will be €225,000.
Does the state pay fees of private national school teachers?

Obviously each school is different but from the broad figures does this look like a school that could survive?

    Interesting post.

How much have the numbers attending fallen? I'm not sure are you entitled to financial info. Having said that I'd be paying fees monthly as opposed to yearly up front.

I can't see how teachers in a private school could be state paid tbh. Doesn't make sense for the state to be subsidising a private co.

Many private school teachers aren't actually trained, so may be on a lesser salary and the DES does contribute:

I don’t think the DES pay any salaries in fee paying primary schools. They do pay a number of salaries in fee paying post primary schools.
This is one of the reasons the fee paying junior schools fees may be higher than the fees in post primary.

I am in Dublin and a my local fee paying junior school closed down recently. The secondary still open and going strong. Numbers were an issue for the primary.
