....and especially, completed the agreement at year 3 (or whatever one you picked).

Just wondering how it worked out, and whether you thought it 'did what is said on the tin' or in fact you got scalded on the deal at the end ?

What dealers/marques are offering PCP in Ireland? Buddy in the UK is on his second MT09 on almost 0% and raves about the deal he gets.

    BMW Motorrad for one.

...or, if you have experience of a car one, that'd do me for info purposes.

I'm just trying to see if there is a 'catch' or something.

I think the catch is the mileage and servicing T&C's? Apologies, no experience directly, but indirectly read what you "must" do to avoid penalty costs determined at contract end.

The catch is that you will unlikely ever own a bike again. The benefit is that you will have a new bike every few years, that you have to keep pristine. If you do above average mileage then PCP isn't for you though.

I think I remember reading here on boards that the limitation on mileage is like 15k in 3 years.

Personally I'd run up 10k in a year, and I'm struggling to think of a reason to buy a GS and not go on long tours and drives on it.

Edit: Personally I'd always recommend going with the Credit Union. BMW and other finance dealers are notorious for massive interest rates.

Another edit: Found the thread from 2015. https://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2057489920

It doesn't work here because our market is too small and dominated by UK imports, which will mostly be exPCP bikes.

It works for cars here as they have zero percent or low finance and once you go in with plenty of research if PCP is suitable for you you can get good value. Unfortunately too many people didn't research enough, the sudden turn on diesel wasn't expected, which is why so many will be caught out.

Good golly - is that 3 years ago already !! ??

lolz, I see my name in there a lot: as you can see, I didn't go with the PCP then, hence why it's resurfacing now. Glad I didn't go with the F though.

A real pity none of the others are at it, as I'm looking now again, and a Crosstourer DCT is on my radar, but I'd def change it in 3 years to a Gold Wing DCT. A PCP would suit that - if I was keeping it I'd def go CU though.
