Buying cheap Fuji lenses

I recently bought into the Fujifilm ecosystem with an X-T20 and 18-55mm "kit" lens that I love. I always knew Fuji lenses were incredibly expensive but now that I have to buy them, it's starting to hit home. Does anyone know where to buy these lenses for a lower price tag? All the camera store (at least in Dublin) sell the f2.0 lenses for ~€500 compared to $350 in the states. Why are they so expensive here? Any suggestions?

Fly to the US and buy a load of them at the same time.

If you compare bhphotovideo to (say) conns, for the 35mm f/2,

    https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1191420-REG/fujifilm_xf_35mm_f_2_r.html
    https://www.connscameras.ie/p/fujifilm-xf--35mm-f2-r-wr/p-4547410310405

In NY it's $349, to ship it here will cost you $22, VAT & Duty another $149 for a total of ~ $520 or €447
Without shipping, assuming you went to NY, bought it, and paid the VAT as your obliged to do on the way into the country, it would be $349 + $91 = ~ €379 but you still have to get to NY :-)

In Conns it's €429, with the advantage that you can walk in and buy it, it's a local store so if anything goes wrong you can go back in etc etc etc

It's not -quite- as simple as merely saying that it's $350 (CHEAP!!!) v €500 (RIPOFF IRELAND !!!!!)

    Have you tried Eglobalcentral.eu?

Fuji regularly do rebate deals on their lens and bodies. Keep an eye out on the Fuji Ireland website for the deals. Depending on the lens, you typically get €50-100 discounted.

eGlobal is a good spot too to buy a lens. Got my 56mm 1.2 there for about €200 cheaper than anywhere else.

Well my my... I'm in Texas next week with work... and now you've planted the seed in my head. I didn't think there were deals to be had by shopping electronics/camera gear in the US.

Use the price tracker on eGlobal. I saw the xf 27 f/2.8 was down to €144 at one point there, as opposed to €450 in Dublin.

Have you used this site before? Is it reliable?

Used it plenty. Loads of review on boards about it already and a dedicated thread.

Went ahead and bought the lens from eGlobal, thanks for the advice. How do they offer such low prices?

For anyone who's interested, they're selling the Fuji 27mm F2.8 pancake lens for €158: https://www.eglobalcentral.eu/fujifilm-fujinon-xf-27mm-f2.8-lens-black.html

Just here to say I bought lens from them before, and a few other bits. I was delighted with their prices and a bit sceptic. It took a few weeks to get them but everything was grand.
