Openelec on raspberry pi 2 model b

    Hi,

I am having some issues putting openelec on my raspberry pi 2 model B.

I downloaded the software from openelec (openelec 8.0.4) and put only this software on the MicroSD card and put this into the pi and it started fine.

When I put in the network details (I have the raspberry pi WiFi dongle) and it goes to connect it seems to connect to the WiFi but then a message appears in the corner saying ‘network error, did not receive a reply etc) and when it lets me finish the screen is very different from the openelec I had before and I cannot stream anything.

    Any idea of the issue?

Have you used the dongle successfully with any browser on the Pi?

I have used it before but it hasn’t been used in about 10 months approx.

Do you think the issue is the dongle?

IMO, Openelec is outdated and not receiving as much development as it previously did.

In your position I would try LibreELEC to which most of the devs moved.
