Who put it out to tender?
Your extension is a private development, thus the tender is a private process between you, your professional and the contractors selected to tender for it.

Persumabally the OP is in a South Dublin County Council Tennant.

Extensions to the council house still go through the same planning and private development process. You just get permission from SDCC to carry out the works.

If it is out to public tender through eTenders you can do a notice check online but as above, you will not see any details of worth. This will only let you see what contracts out they have published.
You must register with them as supplier/buyer, but as an individual, without CRO and VAT number, not possible.
All details of accepted tender etc. will go to the consultant who issued same.

The SDCC are doing everything. Architect/project manager / etc.

We signed off the plans months ago. They said it would be out to tender and wanted to see if I could see it

There's been no planning permission sign post at my house .. they said because they are the council they don't need permission.

For domestic extensions and the like, the tender is unlikely to be published individually. What often happens is that the council will seek contractors at the start of the year who are interested in such work and will add them to a panel. They will then directly ask 4-6 contractors to tender.

That doesn't sound right. It may be that the extension is considered a small one and is exempt.

    Could be an exempted development.
The council will have a list of approved contractors that they just fish this work out to. I’d say they are awaiting on tenders to come back and see who can do the work and when.

I don’t think you can see them online. eTenders only covers projects over a certain contract sum.

There is a website https://www.cisireland.com that provide details of products gone to tender, projects awarded etc. There is a self build section on this website and it may be there but I’m not sure how much detail is given.
