    Hi,
I've used PM for the pantry offer but certain items will not be shipped by Amazon (aerosol) also PM not very happy about booze going through them. Time to stock up with the shower gel's etc, always a saving, cheers Op.

How much do you get charged from Addresspal?

I'm presuming you can only half fill the box?

Will they always stop you trying to get booze across? I don't know if it's worth the risk

I had a full box the other week and An Post weighed it at 15.5Kg - they charged €12.99. Bit expensive if you aren't already making a big saving on Amazon.

They have a full price list here: https://addresspal.anpost.ie/pricing-sizing

Parcel Wizard only have Northern Ireland base, and Amazon don't deliver Pantry Boxes there yet.

Wow just checked, they deliver to NI now . Must've just started to, didn't work when I tried two weeks ago. PW is definitely the way to go, muuuuch cheaper than An Post.

Have got amazon pantry 3 times now. First time to Parcel Motel by mistake amd the last two times to Parcel Wizard. No bother with Parcel Wizard but I got charged oversized at ParcelMotel.

I have bought booze each time at huge savings but you run the risk of customs seizing the whole package. Got spirits that are €50 here in tesco for £20 and some beers that aren't available etc. I think you run the risk of the whole package being seized if it is discovered though and possibly being asked to pay vat/duty + penalty. Not sure if it's that different to buying booze up north and bringing it home though.

On general household supllies there are a few pound to be saved.

My second order they sent one item separately to Parcel wizard which was a bit annoying as there was definitely room in the box and it wasnt the heaviest of the three I ordered.

So I think if you look at the prices and think you can make a saving it's worthwhile. Stuff does come a bit battered though, they just wrap a few things and pack the space in those airbags.

I got caught by AddressPal late last year for an oversize box from the pantry. It appears that the smallest pantry box is bigger than the AddressPal dimensions. It cost €25!

The only consolation was that an item was damaged within the box and amazon refunded the total cost of the order apartfrom the AddressPal charge.

An Post go on two different measures- actual weight- and 'dimensional weight'. You could get caught out and end up paying 12.99 on a small item- if someone puts it in a large box- its happened to most of us with Amazon at one stage or another........

The standard charge for an Address Pal item- is EUR 3.75
    Oversize = 12.99
Non-authorised items (read alcohol, items with Li-Ion batteries etc)- may mysteriously vanish the system and never re-appear- however, Amazon will do a refund (but not a reship) after 14 days.

Pantry seems a bit hit and miss with box sizes- I'd make a working assumption its 3.75- and collection at the local- but be prepared for 12.99 and having to go to the sorting office............

I often get pantry boxes delivered via parcel motel especially around Christmas time. Have done since they launched it in 2015. Never had an issue.
