Calculating exchange rate for using card abroad

    Hi,

I’m looking to buy a car in UK for £17k and trying to figure out cheapest way to pay.

I have a transferwise Account, which tells me exactly how much it will cost to transfer euros into sterling.
I am also considering use by my BOI visa debit, so have checked Visa Europe, and entered the exchange fee as 2% which is the cross-border handling fee that BOI charge. However, I don’t think this is right, as BOI charge max fee of €11.43. Should I put the exchange fee as 0% and then just add the €11.43 on to the figure that visa gives?

    Thanks
