I hadn't seen this mentioned here before, and there's a lot of chat that charging (money) for charging (electricity) would be a good thing.

Well... I found 8 EV charging stations that charge £0.20 per hour for 7.2 kW in Blanchardstown business park.

The company is evcharge.online but it's a rubbish website so no idea if there are other chargers like this out there?

Is this news to people already or is this the first paid charging station in Ireland??

If they are charging 20c for 7.2kWh of electricity they are going to go out of business pretty quick. That won’t cover the per unit distribution cost before you even talk about the transmission, standing charges and cost of the energy itself.

    West Britishness confirmed :D

Joke aside, I assume these points are considered private property?

    Even ESB can change

A: Access and use of the public charging infrastructure is currently available at no cost. Note: normal parking fees apply.

    Yep,

It's 20 English pence according to their useless website anyway, see screenshot below.

The charger station has a port on each side but you have to bring your own cable. There is one directly opposite a Texaco garage (tho it has nothing to do with the garage).

They are in a business park but they are publicly accessible 24/7. Pretty useless unless you happen to work there, so more so wondering if there were more of these and if charging (money) was a thing now.

Ps: I was interested in this as had my eye on the Kona, but not at the Irish prices announce today :(

We’re those priced set by TFL as part of the contract or were E-Cars able to set their own price ?

Seems like a very small company: https://suite.endole.co.uk/explorer/postcode/ox17-1su

Further digging , it’s part of Rolec

The ESB like to charge the membership rates don't they, must be an addiction to the standing charge we all pay on our leccy bills - why can't they just keep it simple.

Those are good rates - if they brought in the equivalent over here (probably €5 per month and 28c/kWh vs 32c/kWh) I'd be happy with that.

Tiered charging (PAYG , or a cheaper kWh rate with a flat fee) is quite common on the other parts of the world with paid charging.

I hate ecars with a passion but I can't fault them here.
