Toll tag placement

Anyone know if it’s ok to have a toll tag peeking out like this? The instructions say to put it behind the rear view mirror, but there’s a big plastic box for the rain sensor back there.

V50 doesn’t have a dotted area for tags, and I don’t want to put it at the bottom of the rain sensor area as it looks horrible and I may be putting a dashcam there (that will at least be black).

Other option would be to put it over in the top passenger side corner. Will it work over there?

Yeah, no bother as long as it doesn't obstruct your view (which it doesn't seem to)

I’ve mine almost totally behind the black in a C30.

Our XC60 has no spare black space thanks to sensors, and with a heated screen there’s only a tiny spot in the top corner where the tag works. Took trial and error to find it.

You should be able to put it on the other side, on my S40 I mounted it so that it couldn't be seen from the front

Once I got angry about my toll tag being on a windscreen. The same moment I had my dials taken out for burnt out bulbs replacement, so stuck a toll tag on top of instrument cluster and put the whole lot back in. Believe it or not, it worked perfectly! :D

The tag isn't reliant on line of sight to work, it's more RFID technology, the camera picks up your reg plate and links it to the tag, I've mine behind the rear view mirror completely behind the blackout plastic, never had an issue.

If it’s only for the m50 toll then the tag is grand in your glove box, on the odd occasion I’m using an actual toll plaza I just throw the tag on the dash for a few minutes to get through

Cool, I’m going to try to hide it right behind the mirror so it’s not visible. Probably won’t get to try it out on a toll road for a couple of weeks.

It’ll be used on all the tolls between both Limerick and Galway and Dublin, so I think I’ll leave it mounted. It is an ugly yoke, though. You’d think they’d make them black at least.

Been using the S-Max on a trip to Dublin this weekend. It has a heated windscreen, so I had to put the tag in the designated dotted area. No issues there.

    Thanks all.
