Renting car for the test

I have a Canadian license and I can rent a car from any rental company using that license. Is it alright if I book a car from a rental company just for the test (it will turn out to much cheaper as the rental for a day is around 20-30 if you book in advance).
    Thanks

It is more usual to rent from a driving school. There must be a reason why. Triple check a rental company allows you use it for a test.

Thanks for the reply. I just read the policy it is mentioned that you need a written approval from a car company that the car would be used for driving test. I doubt any renting agency would rent a car to me in that scenario. Looks like I have to shell out 100 euros for the car from a driving school.

If you have a friend owns a car, they may agree to add you for a week or so to their policy.
I did that with a friend of mine. Perhaps we should not have, but she did it and passed her test.
