I see on the internet Windsor airside are on a big recruitment for new staff for their new renault dealership in swords. Is an R1 dealer just a big flagship dealer? Where are they going to, I'm guessing next door to Bill Cullen old place. Have windsor let go of one of the other franchises they have in airside. Linders Turvey would be on their doorstep, are they now gone?

"Following the appointment of Windsor Motors as R1 dealers for Renault & Dacia in North Dublin, a number of exciting opportunities have become available in our high-profile dealership in Airside Motor Park.

We are currently recruiting for the following positions in our New Windsor Airside Renault and Dacia Dealership:

    - Senior Sales Executive

    - Junior Sales Executive

    - LCV / Fleet Specialist

    - Service Manager

    - Parts Manager

    - Warranty Manager"

    Great copy/Paste Job Advert:

We are recruiting for the position of Service Manager at our Windsor Airside Renault and Dacia Dealership in North Dublin. This is a high profile Management role combining the challenges of growing retail volumes with the demands of a busy sales operation, and maintaining the standards associated with a regional technical centre for Opel Ireland.

Guess they are dropping Opel and going in there?

I didn't see the Opel bit. Looks like dropping Opel but holding onto it for servicing. Funny how things turn full circle. 5 years ago Bill Cullen lost franchise and empire. 1 rival joe Duffy bought his airside site. Now another competitor airside is opening a Renault franchise next door. And Opel is as popular as the popes visit with large dealers getting nervous and jumping ship

Can probably route Opel through the Peugoet garage now.

Are they taking on Opel for all their Renault dealers? I thought Renault was going good for them. Strange moving Windsor switching from Opel to renault and Linders vice versa

Looks like Chapelizod is staying Renault?

Following the appointment of Linders as Opel dealers in North Dublin, a number of opportunities have become available at our two dealerships in Finglas and Swords Turvey.
Linders have been serving the needs of Dublin's motoring public for over 80 years and we are now currently recruiting for the following positions. Senior Sales Executive - Junior Sales Executive and Qualified Opel Service Technicians.
Linders are delighted to be working with Opel and look forward to a bright future together.

It’s hard to keep track of the dealer scene in Dublin. Just when you think a franchise is fairly settled something blows up again and major changes occur. I’d have thought Linders we’re doing well with Renault

Not the best franchise alright. Been a lot of changes already where they lost a few mainstay dealers. Given the poor sales figures it’s not too surprising really though they still have a fairly robust network all things considered.

See Linders is actually now becoming Opel and Citroen.

Also big changes to BMW on the horizon

Colm Quinn is really taking over the country west of the Shannon, not surprised really, I'd say he is one of BMW Ireland's strongest performing dealers from what I hear.

Which is interesting as hes got the steepest prices of all BMW dealerships.

Maybe apart from the BMW garage somewhere around wexford area where the guy said he sold one model for less than the import from UK (after vrt) yet had x5 priced way above the market value...

BTW anyone knows if colmquinn and adrianquinn car sales is related to each other?

He seems to shift a lot of BMWs though including the more exotic stuff like the M cars.

Can't comment on the prices as I went in one day and got to test drive a car and the whole trade in valuation only to never actually receive a follow up call on a cost to change. I find it hard to believe they sell so much as they wouldn't have the same fleet pool of customers that dublin would have and would still be fending off imports, they must be doing some skinny deals although I guess they seem to retail alot of their tradeins through their used car lot which prob helps with their deals

I had to practically beg them to sell me a 640d last year too. It was only when I emailed Colm himself that I got a response. Bought the car elsewhere in the end.

Back on topic, Windsor seem to be going from strength to strength and creating jobs too so best of luck to them!
