Splitting the title deeds on 2 apartments

    Hi Guys,
    My brother owns a small block of 2 apartments. 1 on the ground floor and 1 on the first floor. They have full planning permission as apartments but are both on one deed. My brother would like to sell one of the apartments and to do so he must split the title deeds.

    How is this done.

    Talk to Architect, Engineer or Surveyor.
    There's a process to split them using Land Registry compliant Maps and this is all coordinanted through your solicitor.

    Would like to know more about this. Has anyone done this or similar, what level of time and cost investment was involved? Same situation of more than one apartment on same deed.

    Architect/Engineer/Surveyor to prepare a set of maps to be submitted to Land Registry for splitting. Thy can use the existing folio numbers to start the process.
