Hope it lives up to the book!
    Great read

    Anyone watching this on Sky?

2 episodes in and it's quite slow. Also Goldman is a d**k.

Just bought the book for less than €2 on Kindle to save time!

I think it’s great so far. I rather like how it’s paced. Seems to coincide with the small town setting.

Interesting scene with Matt Frewer (Nola’s Dad) in episode 2.

Yeah I'm really enjoying it too.

    I don't mind it being slow - I like a build-up. But Goldman is a dick!

So am I the only person that likes Goldman? :o

I can see why people think he's a dick, but there's something endearing about his idealistic tendencies. And he won't sell out Quebert to his publisher. So far anyway!

At this stage, I don't think Harry killed Nola, but carrying on with a 15 year old girl when you're obviously at least double her age is at best icky and more truthfully criminal.

Does anyone find the dialog poor? Can't tell if it's ham acting or just bad script.

Yeah I think the script is just laid out that way. I think it plays into the small town narrative maybe? Some of the characters are very cliche.

I really like this show though (as stated above).

Watched episodes 3 and 4 during the week one afternoon. It was excellent. It's an easy watch and well paced I think.

It's driving me crazy. Who plays Roy Baranski (Goldman's editor) in the TV series. It's not on IMDB and he doesn't seem to be in the credits either

Ron Perlman? Just checked his IMDB and he doesn't seem to be there. Strange

He's in the opening credits as special guest star

This finished last night (on sky).
I stuck with it for some reason, but I don't know... there was something wrong with it and I can't quite put my finger on it.

I stuck with it as well. I enjoyed it, surprised how quiet this thread is. Did it stay faithfull to the book?

In fairness it was a really great adaptation, I read the book in 2014 on my Summer hols. Thought they did a fantastic job in translating it to screen

Yeah, I agree. With stuff like this, I'll usually stick it out 'til the end, but I nearly gave up on this. It wouldn't have bothered me if I'd missed the last episode.
