12v battery fencer.

My old battery fencer died (20 odd years old) last Spring during the cold weather. My brother who is knowledgeable about electronic things had a look at it and couldn't fix it.

Any recommendations for an affordable 12v battery fencer to cover 22 acres on the out farm. A solar fencer is of no use as the outfarm is a North facing hill and we only put cattle on it during the Autumn/Winter.

We will have to add a second wire to the fence as the next door neighbour planted trees on some of his land during the Summer and I'm fearful of the weanlings breaking out into it.
Edit - we use either a lorry or tractor battery to power the fence so the source of power isn't a problem.

Are Cheetah the same company as Cheta. I think they were based in Wexford. Only reason that I'm asking is cause I bought a Cheta mains fencer in 1986 and it is still working to this day in my place in NCD.

Have the green cheat fencer last few year. Only problem I has was when I put it in a manure bag to protect it. They fixed it and told me it has to hang straight off a pole. No problem since. Old car battery powering it. Only charge it couple times a year. Until winter.

The manure bag probably trapped moisture into the unit and that caused it to fail.

In carlow afaik, they do repairs to all brands , might be worth asking about your own one

there is an awful wallop off that 1 listed above it's a different sort of pulse and would put manners on most stock , only problem it'ds very severe on batteries
and would need to checked very often

Yep thats the same company. I remember posting them the innards of another larger fencer that got burned out by an lighting strike during a storm in the late 80's. They returned it and only charged for the postage :)

Got 2 Cheetah b1 11 here. Need to check but i think they are b1 11.
Got them running on car battries with 35w solar panels and charge controller.

1 was out all last winter and i forgot to turn it off and its still battering away. A big enough solar panel and it wont matter if its not pointing at sun.

    Great shock of them

Yep that's what they said. If it's hanging the moisture won't get in. Nearly cost me price of new one to fix

I didn't buy one yet we're using one belonging to my brother.
