2 euro per cow per day.

That's how a bill was broken down beside me. Farmer supplied twin tub diet feeder and bought big grab for contractors loading shovel. Four loads every second day I think is what he was doing. Left loader on the farm so only one man needed.

That's a bit steep if you ask me. It all depends on the state of the pits etc. If you don't really have to get off the tractor etc. 200 euro a day for 100 cows for an hrs work.....

Depends on amount of loads, diesel usage, extra wear and tear esp if drawing on the road, do you need to bring loader as well. A few variables to workout

I’d take as many contracts like that as you could give me. I’d even give you commission on each...

Diet feeder would be busy here and 200L diesel per week is all that it burns.

Twenty grand for a 100 day winter.

has to be charged by the hour as every set up differs.

if i was paying €2 per cow i wouldnt lift a finger too leave the pit ready or anything else for that matter. id probably want the cows milked for that as well.

on the other hand if iwas paying by the hour id leave all pits stripped back all feed through cleaned out yard free of obstacles etc etc.

price per farmer will differ greatly as well.
one farmer might want the works, diet feeder tractor and loader shear grab , bucket, while another might only want diet feeder and supply own loader and implements, one can not subtuite the other for the level of service they require

thanks for the replies. both farmers have between 200 & 300 cows, good yards and a loader with shear grab. Pit silage, straw & ration in the mix. Pit would have to be stripped for us. Would be using a strautmann twin tub 2401.
So basically we are looking for a rate per hr for the tractor and feeder.

    Any ides ?

It's constant work for the duration of winter, which may be off peak. 45 an hour. There is a good bit of work and mixes in feeding the bones of 500 cows.

All contract feed on farm here 35 pound per hour for feeder only use the farms handler , farm next door gets a handler and grab left on farm 45 an hour , takes 2 hours to feed when cows are dry and 3 when milking due to extra loads .

You’d want 60 bob an hour
