Mercedes 7G gearbox service

    Hi guys,
    I have a 2008 CLS320 with 7G Auto Gearbox.
    I'm looking to get the gearbox serviced and it appears the MB Star diagnostics is required for this.
    Can anybody recommend an independent Merc garage/specialist within an hour or so of Mullingar to do this?

    Ned Kelly, Castlecomer. V good where Mercedes are concerned... will do a great job on it, has full diagnostics capability ( Star ) Will also give you an update on the mechanical status of the car. I've used his service's in the past, very easy to deal with, what he does not know about Mercedes, is not wort knowing, and he wont rob you either.

    Thanks very much for your reply. I've noticed this mans name being mentioned in various forums and always in a very positive light. He's a little far from me at 1hr40. If no other recommendations come in, I'll certainly consider visiting him.

    He is about the same distance from me, and I have to admit that the time to get to his place is a bit long, but IMO well worth it. Peace of mind alone would make the trip worthwhile. And for a transmission job at that. With Merc Auto Boxes, you better know what you are doing.

    Don't know how far Mullingar is from Swords ,Co Dublin but D&S Motors in Swords are renowned for knowing MBs inside and out. Complete with Star as well.
    5 mins from J4 on the M1
