Hyperhidrosis in hands - Botox?

My son has excessive sweating on his hands and it's ruining his social life. I've purchased an Iontophoresis machine, but it hasn't made much of a difference. now he's talking about Botox, or even keyhole surgery to cut the nerves. I'm more include to choose the Botox route, but wanted to see if anyone else had this done…

I'm more include to choose the Botox route, but wanted to see if anyone else had this done on their hands and if it made much difference. And, if there were any side effects? I've heard that it can weaken the muscles in the hand.
