Best time of year to buy a new TV?

A lot of devices and hardware have predictable refresh cycles and there are good times and bad times during that cycle to buy them. For example, you'd be mad to buy a new iPhone this time of year because there will undoubtedly be a new model released in September.

So what about TVs? Is there a specific time of year that they refresh, or is it manufacturer specific, or is it just an ongoing thing? Obviously there are a lot of seasonal sales of TVs too, but separate from that, when do they usually get upgraded?

Think new tvs come out around March/April, generally good deals on TV's before Christmas or early in the new year if you want the old model.
